Nov. 5 update: The equipment and rubber surface are in place (see top photo). The kids won’t have long to wait now.
Two arches forming a new play structure now rise above St. Joseph’s-Alexander McKay Elementary’s upper yard, almost exactly two years after parents at the school formed a committee to try and improve the concrete play area. Excavation work started last week and workers are aiming to finish the base before the frost arrives in earnest.
Volunteers have created an extensive Facebook site chronicling the project.
