HALIFAX — Firefighters worked hard to put out a stubborn attic fire on Woodill Street on Sunday. The lunchtime blaze appeared in the roof near the chimney. No one was reportedly hurt, but it forced a family with two young children out to the street.
This festive backyard on Belle Aire Terrace got some extra drive-by traffic Christmas Eve. One of the fans said a local television station featured the light show on its evening newscast.

The sessions, run by the municipality, are to discuss a 150-page document that looks at the future of the city’s fields, pools and rinks. Some of the recommendations will be of interest to swimmers who enjoy Needham and Centennial pools.
